Wearing: dee elle dress, H&M blazer, J Crew pumps (love these in similar color), sequin clutch (similar), House of harlow necklace
Ysl "le orange" lipstick, O.P.I Goldeneye polish

In my last post, I shared a fun new year's look that I wore over the weekend for my husband's birthday. That gold sequin skirt is always a hit I find, and I just couldn't save it for another few days. Well this jacquard dress is what I wore last night to ring in 2014. Still girly and glam, but more relaxed for a night with our best friends. There was one thing I had to have though, regardless of where we ended up - confetti. We didn't go all out with decorations, but where there is multi-colored confetti, there is a fabulous time to be had my friends...

I hope you all celebrated a wonderful N.Y.E.! I hope you're recovering nicely today too, just as I am :)

With all of the fantastic sales taking place this Holiday season, it's safe to say that I've been doing my fair share of shopping. Temptation is always high around Thanksgiving and Christmas, so while I shop for others, I also sneak in a few treats for myself as well. That's allowed right?!

I have picked up a few things that I just have to share with you! I wanted to review them in case any of you are in need of some last minute gift ideas, or if you've been coveting them for yourself.

I wear flats every single day to work. I own a few pairs, so I can switch up my look fairly easily without sacrificing style. However, I was in desperate need of flats that were really comfortable, didn't rub my heels, and didn't pinch my toes. These Sam Edelman flats are a dream come true! Hands-down the best fitting and most comfortable I have ever worn. The foot bed is cushioned, and the elastic around the heel does not rub or cause friction. It also does not slide down either, which is something I know a lot of us have experienced with other flats. The toes have plenty of room. I feel like I'm wearing house slippers! They come in leather, but I preferred the wine colored suede because they will pair well with other neutrals. They also come in a multitude of colors, even metallics! I will never spend money on other higher-end flats. These are perfect!

Baublebar Mini Pave Links Bracelet (Top, mine is in silver but it comes in gold as well)

I've had quite the affinity for Baublebar since I first spotted their pieces on my favorite bloggers and friends. Honestly, the addiction is a little out of hand these days (I have more jewels on the way!) but I just can't feel guilty about it because the quality is incredible and the price is attainable for someone with such an obsession. I wanted to rave about these bracelets in particular because they are both still available (to my knowledge) on the website and because they are perfect for the holidays or anytime! I've worn both out and have received so many compliments. They look beautiful on their own, but they also layer with other bracelets to create whatever look you are going for. I like to wear mine with my watches for a classic combination.

Always on the quest for nail polish with a great formula, I decided to see what all the fuss was about during the Sephora V.I.B. sale. Good thing I did! These are exactly what I want in a polish - smooth formula that goes on opaque in one coat, and absolutely stunning in two! The gel effect lives up to the name. I have worn both of these shades, and they lasted for a full week with little to no chipping. I see more shades in my future.

Okay. How hyped up are Urban Decay naked palettes? The hype is always unbelievable, and before I even have a chance to catch a glimpse of one, they are gone! Sold out in a matter of minutes! That always frustrates me, and I spend the next week convincing myself that I don't care, and I don't need another eyeshadow palette filled with neutrals. Wrong. I hate to tell you this, but naked 3 lives up to the hype. I know, I'm sorry I have to be the bearer of bad news. If you can't get ahold of it yet, don't worry. The hype will die down after the holidays and they will become more available. I own a lot of eyeshadows but I really don't have much, if any, of these rosy toned hues in my collection. They are warm, but not overly so. They really are just beautiful.

Notice these are all positive reviews! I love it when that happens.

Baublebar bracelet, Revlon ultimate suede lipstick in "Backstage". Nails are China Glaze in "Emerald Fitzgerald".

In keeping with last week's party theme, I decided to bring out my favorite glamorous combination for hubby's company Christmas party - black and gold. When in doubt, I always stick to this no-fail palette because I know it works for any event or special occasion. It always looks put together and classic. So do wine colored lips! It was my first attempt at such a dark color and I absolutely loved the result. I think I'm going to repeat the makeup look I wore over and over this holiday season.

Now that Fall is coming to end, I want to share my lookbook for the season. I know most of you have already been experiencing Winter weather for awhile, but it's just now been cold enough here in southern California to really make people feel like Winter is around the corner. And when I say now, I literally mean now. I just checked the temps for next week and it's going to get back up into the 70's! Hardly Wintertime.

Fall trends are my absolute favorite so I hope you enjoy these outfits! Most can be layered with coats, tights, and boots to transition into Winter. My first lookbook (Summer) can be found here.

Unlike Summer where I was all about color, Fall has been more neutral. I have been reaching for black a lot, and that's something I never thought I'd do again after gravitating toward color the past couple of years. I'm sure once Spring hits, that will change. The beauty of fashion is that you can reinvent yourself every day. For now though, I think I'll stick to jewel tones, sparkle, black and gold, and of course...my favorite pumps!

What did you wear a lot this season?

Blazer - H&M
Jeans - Loft
Scarf Necklace - Anthropologie (check stores)
Pumps - Zara

Sunday was the perfect Fall day. Husband and I decided to take a walk through a beautiful community area, complete with a lake and benches to relax on. As we were walking along the path, I looked down at my feet and smiled from ear to ear - red and orange leaves were scattered about like confetti. Fall is such a fleeting season isn't it? We rarely get to enjoy it here. Summer turns straight into Winter, bypassing that perfect time of year where it's cool enough to wear light layers but warm enough to spend evenings outside. It's such a delicate balance, one I'm always searching for. I think this will become our Sunday ritual :)

Happy Halloween in advance! Are you girls doing anything special? Mine will revolve around comfy Pj's and passing out candy to kiddos.

Some combinations are just meant for each other. When it comes to dressing up for a night out, black and gold are a match made in heaven. Chic, elegant, and expensive looking. I've been on the look-out for a good LBD, especially with the holiday season coming up. This one with bursts of gold flakes is a great option. Simply throw on a blazer, some glittering gold accessories, and a leather clutch. The outcome is classic.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

I've always been a t-shirt and jeans kinda girl, but I've never been much into graphic tees. Not sure why really, I guess I just never knew how to style one. My Fall uniform is simple, so throwing on an otherwise basic tee and layering a classic blazer over it is the perfect way for me to embrace the trend without going outside of my comfort zone. Plus, I am feeling very loved lately and I'm not afraid to show it.

Wearing: Jacket - Target, Jeans - Loft, Tee - Loft, Heels - Zara (old), Bag - Kate Spade, Necklace - J.Crew, Ring - Ysl

I was delighted Wednesday evening when I stepped outside my front door and realized there was a slight chill in the air. We were heading to greet visiting family that flew in from Ohio for our wedding, and a light cover-up was definitely needed. I had recently purchased this jacket after seeing it on Tara, and it was delivered just in time. I had no idea that the brand Mossimo makes petite sizing. This olive moto jacket is perfect for Fall, and no alterations are required. Love that.
You know what else I love? The fact that I'm getting married in 24 hours!

Here is my formula for a great date night look: A soft skirt that appears to float as I walk, a polished button down blouse, pumps in a vibrant color, and a statement necklace that ties it all together. Easy! Now, if it would just cool down a bit! September is always the hottest month here, but this year feels especially unbearable with temperatures well over 100 degrees. Doesn't mother nature know that it'll be Fall soon? I'm dying to jump into some denim! That is my second no-fail formula for date night :)

I hope you are all enjoying the week!

After months of going back and forth on what type of wallet to get, I decided on this little treat in florescent pink.

I love how small and compact it is. I really don't carry much in my wallet these days, so just a few card slots and a compartment for bills is all I need to stay organized. When I switch in and out of my handbags, I won't have to worry about this taking up too much space or weighing me down. I can now retire my old, ratty wallet that is literally falling apart at the seams!

After shopping on Saturday, I came home and cleaned out my vanity area and bathroom. It got me thinking about products that are crucial for me in regards to blogging. Before using my camera to snap outfit photos, I always make sure to finish my look with these items. They ensure that I at least appear fresh and glowy, even if the rest of me doesn't look so great! I often wonder what other bloggers use before becoming camera - ready. Do they really look like that all the time? Or do they have any special beauty tricks? For me, as long as my skin looks moisturized and my face doesn't resemble an oil slick, I can brave the camera without too much fuss.

While in the shower - Ro's Argan Body Conditioner is what I use to shave my legs, keeping them ultra soft. The rose scent is gorgeous! I could slather myself in this from head to toe. After the body conditioner, I use Ocean Salt to exfoliate my arms, legs, and upper chest area. I swear this makes a difference in photos!

After the shower - Time to apply a second layer of moisture and seal in the Lush products I used while in the shower. Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer is great because it's so fast and easy, with no mess or oily residue that could stain your clothes. This is my second bottle, and I plan on buying more once it runs out! Even with dry legs, this spray-on lotion is the key to soft, pretty looking legs. For an extra bit of sheen that photographs like candlelight in pictures, I use Pacifica Coconut Crushed Pearl Body Butter. This has the same effect as a liquid highlighter, so a quick swipe down the center of legs and arms creates a really pretty effect on camera. Plus, it smells like a tropical vacation!

Once I'm all dressed and just about ready to go, I apply my Make Up For Ever HD Powder, followed by a few short bursts of Urban Decay's All Nighter Finishing Spray to ensure I don't look like an oily mess in this hot Summer heat! I think a colorful lipstick brightens up my face, especially in pictures so I usually opt out of anything nude and go for a punchy pink, raspberry, coral, or red.

What do you girls do to prep for an outfit post? Anything special? I usually take pictures on the weekends when I have more time, and when I have a little more freedom with my wardrobe. I find it much easier than rushing home from work during the week, but kudos to those of you fabulous ladies who can do it all!

Instead of our usual Friday night going out to dinner or grabbing drinks somewhere, the boy and I decided to watch the day end from a park down the street from our place. There were just enough clouds for the sun to dance in and out of them, creating a soft glow that was perfect for snapping some pictures. In spite of my "no picture taking out in public" rule, I decided to quit being such a baby and just go for it. I think I did get some odd glances from some people taking a stroll, but for once, I didn't care. More of these public displays to come? We shall see...I still prefer the safety of my sidewalk ;)

How was your weekend?!
